The schedule NBA's annual Christmas Day extravaganza has been set. As per usual, there are five games scheduled on December 25:

Atlanta Hawks at New York Knicks - 12:00 PM ET on ESPN

Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks - 2:30 PM ET on ABC

Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns - 5:00 PM ET on ABC

Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers - 8:00 PM ET on ABC/ESPN

Dallas Mavericks at Utah Jazz - 10:30 PM ET on ESPN

The Utah Jazz have signed guard MaCio Teague.

Teague (6-4, 195, Baylor) owned averages of 15.9 points on 47.8 percent from the field, along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists as a senior in 2020-21, helping Baylor to a National Championship. The Cincinnati native garnered 2020-21 All-Big 12 Third Team honors for his final standout collegiate season. He spent two seasons at Baylor (2019-21), where he also earned 2019-20 All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Big 12 Newcomer Team accolades.

Despite being about $17.2 million over the luxury tax, the Utah Jazz aren't expected to dump salary in the form of a rotation player. Utah already moved Derrick Favors in a trade designed to lessen their tax bill.

With extensions kicking in for both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell that average between $32 and $41, along with some offseason additions, the Jazz have seen their tax bill escalate. That's sparked speculation that Utah might move on from one of their mid-tier salary players like Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles or Royce O'Neale. However, sources indicate that the Jazz will not move any players for now.

The Utah Jazz have re-signed guard Trent Forrest to a two-way contract. 

Forrest (6-4, 210, Florida State) appeared in 30 games with the Jazz last season, posting averages of 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 10.1 minutes while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. He also saw action in four postseason games.

The 23-year-old was a four-year collegiate player at Florida State, where he left as the winningest player in school history with 104 victories, also ranking third in all-time steals (224), third in all-time games played (137) and fifth in all-time assists (455). Off the court, Forrest was named to the ACC All-Academic Basketball Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll in four-straight seasons.

The Utah Jazz have signed Jarrell Brantley to his Qualifying Offer.

Brantley spent the past two seasons on a Two-Way deal with the Jazz. 

Brantley appeared in 28 games for the Jazz last season. 

Mike Conley signed a three-year contract with the Utah Jazz with Year 3 worth $24.36 million, but only $14.32 million in guaranteed.

Conley will earn $21 million in 21-22 and $22.68 million in 22-23.

Conley averaged 16.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 29.4 minutes per game last season for the Jazz. 

The Golden State Warriors have traded Eric Paschall to the Utah Jazz for a protected second round pick.

Paschall is known to be a close friend of Donovan Mitchell.

The Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets are each currently slated to have a luxury tax penalty in excess of $100 million.

Based on their current roster, the Warriors' bill is estimated at $185 million while the Nets will pay $122 million. The highest luxury tax bill in NBA history belongs the 13-14 Brooklyn Nets at $90.6 million.

If the Los Angeles Clippers re-sign Kawhi Leonard to his max, they will have a $54 million luxury tax bill.

The Los Angeles Lakers ($36 million), Utah Jazz ($29 million) and Milwaukee Bucks ($29 million) also have luxury tax penalties. 

Hassan Whiteside has agreed to a contract with the Utah Jazz.

Whiteside spent last season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 8.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 15.2 minutes over 36 games.

Rudy Gay has agreed to sign with the Utah Jazz on a two-year deal wroth $12.1 million. Gay will have a player option in Year 2 of the deal.

Gay spent the past four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs. Last season, Gay averaged 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 38.1 percent on three-pointers.
