Marc Gasol: This Is The NBA, Not The G League

Feb 28, 2018 4:33 PM

Marc Gasol was asked about his frustration level this season as the Memphis Grizzlies have one of the worst records in the NBA.

"It's pretty high," Gasol said. "It's pretty high."

Gasol was asked whether Wednesday's game against the Suns would be an opportunity to win.

"That'd be ideal just to show guys and give confidence to guys to show them that doing the right thing, it's important. It makes you win games. Winning is what this is about," Gasol said. "It's not about somebody playing well or getting, you know, your reps or developing players. Because we have a league for that. We have a league and a team here in Memphis to develop guys. This is the NBA, not the G League."

Grizzlies Rejected Emmanuel Mudiay, 2nd Round Pick From Nuggets For Tyreke Evans

Feb 9, 2018 10:23 AM

The Denver Nuggets attempted to trade for Tyreke Evans with the Memphis Grizzlies at the deadline and presented two offers.

Denver offered Memphis either Emmanuel Mudiay and a second round pick, or an expiring contract and multiple second round picks.

The Grizzlies wanted more in exchange for Evans and didn't want any salary for the 18-19 season. Mudiay was eventually traded to the New York Knicks.

Memphis failed to find a workable trade of Evans, who they signed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract.

The Washington Wizards also had interest in Evans and likely would have parted with two second round picks as well.

Grizzlies Not Interested In Opening Marc Gasol Trade Talks

Feb 8, 2018 8:14 AM

The Memphis Grizzlies have consistently resisted opening a dialogue with rival teams about trading for Marc Gasol.

Gasol can become a free agent in 2019 and is due $24.1 million in 18-19 along with an early termination option in 19-20 worth $25.6 million. Gasol signed a five-year, $110 million contract with the Grizzlies in 2015.

The Grizzlies are out of playoff contention this season and may be beginning a full rebuild in the near future.

Grizzlies Continue To Seek FRP For Tyreke Evans

Feb 8, 2018 8:05 AM

The Memphis Grizzlies continue to seek a first round pick in exchange for Tyreke Evans.

The Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers are interested in acquiring Evans but are reluctant to part with a first round pick or a young player.

While Evans is on an affordable expiring contract, he would be a pure rental for any team trading for him as they would not hold his Bird rights and need to use cap space to re-sign him.

Evans signed a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Grizzlies last offseason and is averaging 19.5 points per game.

The Boston Celtics are seeking an extra first round pick in their trade talks involving Marcus Smart in hopes of flipping it in a package for either Lou Williams or Tyreke Evans.
