The Boston Celtics "aggressively pursued" a trade for Davis Bertans at the trade deadline, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated. 

The Wizards are hoping to re-sign Bertans and resisted trade offers for him as he has a breakout season.

According to Mannix, the Celtics were "willing to go deep into the draft war chest to pry Bertains loose."

The "war chest" of the Celtics is an outdated mode of thinking as they only own this year's first round pick from the Memphis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Tommy Sheppard clarified the Washington Wizards won't get John Wall back from his Achilles injury until the 20-21 season.

Sheppard was addressing how Bradly Beal's life will be easier "when he gets John back next year."

Sheppard was then asked to explain why Wall shouldn't be expected back until the start of 20-21.

"I think we have maintained that all along. We didn't plan on seeing him this year. I think that's fair to John, to manage the expectations for him," Sheppard said. "He's on his way, but he's not there and he's not close yet. He's a lot closer than he was a year ago when the injury happened."

The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade Jordan McRae to the Denver Nuggets for Shabazz Napier.

The Nuggets acquired Napier as part of this week's four-team trade involving Robert Covington and Clint Capela. 

The Washington Wizards have expressed interest in trading for Tristan Thompson, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

It was reported earlier that Thompson is available on the trade market. 

Thompson will be a free agent after this season.
