NBA Reschedules Four Games, Pushes Back Start Times Of 16 Games

Jan 29, 2021 1:07 AM

The NBA rescheduled four games in an effort to avoid a pile-up towards the second half of the season.

The rescheduled games include:

  • Raptors versus Celtics on February 11th, moved up from February 12th
  • Pistons versus Celtics on February 12th, moved up from February 14th
  • Celtics versus Wizards and Pelicans versus Pistons on February 14th, moved up from the second half of the season

The league also pushed back the start times of 16 games to allow more time to process COVID-19 testing results.

Bradley Beal: I Want To Win, This Is Why I Stayed

Jan 28, 2021 5:18 PM

Bradley Beal expressed his frustration following another loss for the Washington Wizards despite his 47 point effort. Washington lost 124-106 to the New Orleans Pelicans in the game.

Beal was asked if he's frustrated.

"Is the sky blue?" he said calmly.

Beal signed a two-year, $72 million extension with the Wizards in 2019.

"It's tough," Beal said. "I am not going to sit here and be naive. ... We want to win, and I want to win. This is why I stayed. I want to win. I figured this is the place I can get it done. It's tough. Last year was what it was. We had a lot of guys out. John [Wall] was out. It was just a rotten year. COVID hit."

Teams Trying To Make Moves Now To Improve Eventual Offer To Wizards For Bradley Beal

Jan 28, 2021 1:57 PM

With James Harden and Jrue Holiday traded and Giannis Antetokounmpo now on a supermax extension, Bradley Beal is the NBA's biggest star who could conceivably come to market in the near future given the continued struggles of the Washington Wizards. Beal can become a free agent after the 21-22 season, which could lead the Wizards to trade him.

"It's what everyone's talking about in the league," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "There are executives out there... I'm just telling you this, I talk to them... who are talking about moves they can make going into this trade deadline, or moves they can make now that potentially set themselves up to make an even better Bradley Beal offer when that moment happens. Whether it's in March, whether it's in August. Whatever.

"There are so many people watching this, even though he is, to my knowledge, has not made any requests for anything."

The Wizards have a 3-11 record on the season, but Beal has a positive plus/minus in the minutes he has played. Beal is also leading the NBA in scoring with 35.4 points per game.

Scott Brooks Says Rhythm 'Totally Taken Away From Us' Following Wizards' Loss

Jan 25, 2021 1:17 AM

Scott Brooks described the Washington Wizards season as "weird" following their 121-101 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

The loss was the team's first game since January 11th due to the league's health and safety protocols.

"This whole season for us has been weird. Definitely, I don't think I will ever go through anything like this again. ... I think all of our guys are going to have to get back in NBA rhythm. It's been totally taken away from us," said Brooks following the game.

The Wizards, with six players still unavailable, had only returned to practice within the last three days.

"It's not normal. I just got done getting tested after the game, so it's not normal. We are doing a lot of things on the fly," added Bradley Beal.

Six Wizards Players Test Positive For COVID-19, Three More In Protocol

Jan 16, 2021 1:34 PM

The Washington Wizards have had six players text positive for COVID-19, with three more in protocol.

"If you follow our track really going back to when we played Chicago [Dec. 29 and 31], almost every team we've played, a player tested positive. The next day [and] the next day, multiple players at some places. It was inevitable," said Wizards GM Tommy Sheppard.

The Wizards, who last played on Monday, have had their next two games postponed.

The team is hoping that if there are no new cases on Saturday, then players who are not in quarantine will be able to return to the practice facility.
