The Washington Wizards have re-signed guard Cassius Winston to a Two-Way contract. Winston was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 53rd pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. His draft rights were then traded to Washington.

Winston played 98 minutes over 22 games as a rookie. He averaged 1.9 points per game with the Wizards.

Winston was a three-year starter at Michigan State. As a senior, he averaged 18.6 points and 5.9 assists per game.

The Washington Wizards are hiring Joseph Blair as a front of the bench assistant coach on the staff of Wes Unself Jr.

Blair spent the 20-21 season as an assistant on the staff of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Blair worked for the Philadelphia 76ers before the stint with Minnesota. 

Pat Delany and Mike Miller are the other two assistants on the front of the bench for the Wizards.

Spencer Dinwiddie's contract with the Washington Wizards is worth $18.86 million but has a partial guarantee at $10 million.

Dinwiddie is coming off a torn ACL suffered during the first part of the 20-21 season.

The NBA has postponed the Indiana Pacers vs Washington Wizards game at Las Vegas NBA Summer League. It was scheduled for Sunday, August 8 and was the opener between the two teams.

The game was postponed due to contract tracing for COVID-19 leaving the Wizards with fewer than the minimum-required players.

Raul Neto has agreed to re-sign with the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards were able to retain Neto after acquiring Spencer Dinwiddie on a sign-and-trade.

The Washington Wizards have acquired Spencer Dinwiddie from the Brooklyn Nets as part of a five-team trade. Dinwiddie will sign a three-year, $62 million contract.

The trade also includes the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs.

Brooklyn will receive a 2024 second round pick, a 2025 second round and an $11.5 million trade exception. Washington will send the more favorable of the Memphis Grizzlies' and Washington's own second round picks in 2024, as well as the more favorable between the Golden State Warriors' and Washington's in 2025.

The Spurs will receive Chander Hutchison and a 2022 second rounder. The Wizards will avoid the luxury tax for the season by trading Hutchison.

The Lakers will receive Russell Westbrook while sending Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell to the Wizards. Washington traded No. 22 from the Lakers to the Pacers for Aaron Holiday and No. 31.

Derrick Rose agreed to re-sign with the New York Knicks on a three-year, $43 million deal.

Rose also received interest from the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Washington Wizards.

Kyle Lowry's decision to sign with the Heat led to Rose re-signing with the Knicks.

Robin Lopez has agreed to a one-year deal with the Orlando Magic worth $5 million.

Lopez is coming off a one-year, $7.3 million deal he signed with the Washington Wizards last offseason.

Lopez averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game last season with the Wizards.

Spencer Dinwiddie is nearing agreement on a deal with the Washington Wizards worth approximately $60 million over three years.

The Wizards almost certainly would need to acquire Dinwiddie via the participation of the Brooklyn Nets in a sign-and-trade.

Alex Len has agreed to a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings worth $7.65 million.

Len averaged 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game last season with the Washington Wizards.
