Bradley Beal has agreed to a five-year, $251 million deal to re-sign with the Washington Wizards.
Beal is a three-time All-Star and was eligible for the 35 percent max due to his 10+ years of service.
Beal is represented by Reggie Brown and Mark Bartelstein.
Washington Wizards star guard Bradly Beal has declined his $36.4 million player option for the 2022-23 season. He'll now be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
It's still possible that Beal signs a new contract with Washington worth $251 million over five years. Beal's max deal with another team would be $194 million over four years.
The Washington Wizards have agreed to send Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith to the Denver Nuggets for Will Barton and Monte Morris.
The Nuggets will get under the tax with the move while Caldwell-Pope is a player they have had interest in previously.
Both Caldwell-Pope and Morris are on expiring contracts.
Victor Oladipo is not expected to return to the Miami Heat in free agency.
Oladipo appeared in 15 playoff games for the Heat this season, averaging 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 24.5 minutes per game as he worked his way back from tendon surgery on his right knee.
The Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons are believed to be interested in Oladipo.
The Washington Wizards are known to be looking for a point guard. One player they reportedly have their eyes on is Monte Morris of the Denver Nuggets.
Morris' name has come up in recent weeks, as Denver is looking to find a way to increase Bones Hyland's role. Jamal Murray is returning after missing all of last season, and Hyland impressed as a rookie.
That could squeeze Morris. He's got a very tradable $9.1 million contract for next season and Morris had a great season as a starter for the Nuggets. Washington is currently without a point guard that is guaranteed to be on the roster for this coming season.
The Washington Wizards and New York Knicks have "consistently discussed" deals for Malcolm Brogdon, sources told Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
There is skepticism that Brogdon will be traded in a deal centered around either the Wizards' No. 10 pick or the Knicks' No. 11 selection in the upcoming draft.
The Wizards instead have been willing to discuss trades involving Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
The Knicks, meanwhile, are open to exploring options surrounding Alec Burks, Evan Fournier, Nerlens Noel, Kemba Walker and Cam Reddish.
Fischer adds that the Knicks' first option is to acquire Jalen Brunson.
Free agent guard Tomas Satoransky is reportedly close to leaving the NBA. Satoransky is closing in on a deal with Barcelona in Spain.
The Czech Republic guard has played in the NBA for the last six seasons. Satoransky was originally drafted by the Washington Wizards in the in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. He then came over to the NBA in 2016.
Before coming to the NBA, the 6-foot-7 guard played for Barcelona for two seasons. It appears he'll return to the club and team with countryman Jan Vesely, who is reportedly close to moving to Barca from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Satoransky played for the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs last season, before returning to Washington to finish the year.
Bradley Beal is one of the top free agents available this offseason. Or maybe he's not really available. That part remains unclear.
While speaking at a community event, Beal said he has made up his mind about where he'll play on his next contract. However, Beal declined to share that information, because he felt it wasn't the appropriate time.
Beal admitted that he regularly gets recruited by other players to join their teams. When asked how many players have recruited him, he said, “A lot. A lot. You know I can’t give you names.”
Beal also shared he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from the left wrist surgery that kept him out of the end of last season. He recently returned to on-court work at the end of last week.
The Washington Wizards' No. 10 pick in the upcoming draft is "widely assumed" to be available, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
The Wizards are said to be looking for a "proven backcourt player" in return.
The team has been linked with a move for Shane Larkin this offseason.
The rumors to add an experienced player comes on the heels of Bradley Beal's impending free agency. Beal has said he wants to go where he feels like can win.
