The New York Knicks are known to be a suitor for Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. As many as six other teams have joined the Knicks in pursuit of Mitchell.

The Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards have all talked Mitchell trades with Utah.

The Jazz are expected to move Mitchell after trading Rudy Gobert began a rebuilding process. New York has been most connected to Utah, as the Knicks can offer a package of young players and up to eight first-round picks in a trade for the All-Star guard.

The Washington Wizards are hiring James Posey as an assistant on Wes Unseld Jr.'s staff, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Posey was an assistant with the University of Virginia women's basketball program last season. 

Bradley Beal's new contract contains the NBA's only true, negotiated no-trade clause. However, the absence of a no-trade clause didn't keep Beal from making his thoughts known on a potential deal last season.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Brian Windhorst of ESPN said the Golden State Warriors kicked around the idea of trading for the Washington Wizards star. But Beal told those in power that he didn't want to go to the Warriors.

Things worked out just fine for both sides. Golden State won the 2022 NBA Finals. Beal signed a five-year, $251 million deal with Washington that includes the aforementioned no-trade clause.

Taj Gibson and the Washington Wizards have agreed to a one-year deal. The deal is expected to be for the veteran minimum for Gibson.

Gibson cleared waivers on Sunday after being released by the New York Knicks. New York had to waive Gibson as part of clearing salary cap space to sign free agent point guard Jalen Brunson.

Gibson has spent the last three seasons with the Knicks. Overall, the veteran big man has logged 13 seasons in the NBA. The Wizards had been looking for another big and a veteran presence for their locker room. Gibson will now fill both of those roles for Washington.

The New York Knicks have waived Taj Gibson, who plans to sign with the Washington Wizards once he clears waivers. 

Gibson spent the past two seasons with the Knicks.

Bradley Beal has a no-trade clause in his new five-year, $251 million contract with the Washington Wizards.

Beal becomes only the 10th player in NBA history to receive a no-trade clause and the only player currently who has one.

Beal also had a 15 percent trade kicker and a player option for Year 5.
