Johnny Juzang Signs Letter Of Intent With Kentucky

May 10, 2019 10:07 PM

Johnny Juzang, the #3 forward in the ESPN 100, signed a letter of intent with Kentucky.

The 6-foot-7 forward Juzang reclassified to the class of 2019 last month.

"Johnny can really score the basketball. You're talking about a kid who has a college-ready body, which is why I was in full support of him reclassifying. When he told us he was doing it, I said let's do this. He can really shoot the basketball and has a great skill set, but what I love about him is his will to win, his fight and competitiveness. He likes to play physical and can shoot over the top of defenders, plus he's a very good rebounder for his age. He's a smart player who is really going to make us a different team next year," said John Calipari.

Kentucky Offers John Calipari Lifetime Contract After Interest From UCLA

Apr 1, 2019 5:40 PM

John Calipari has been offered a lifetime contract by Kentucky. The deal would be a combination of a head coaching extension and a paid role as an ambassador.

The offer from Kentucky comes after UCLA offered Calipari a six-year, $48 million deal. The discussions between Calipari and UCLA were more extensive than previously believed. Kentucky gave UCLA permission to speak with Calipari.

Calipari is the highest-paid basketball coach in the country, making $9.2 million this year.

The new contract won't be substantially more lucrative, but it will include a 10-year term and a promise to be a paid ambassador in retirement.
