Tony Mitchell will return to North Texas, ending speculation that he might enter the draft in response to the departure of former coach Johnny Jones.

Jones, who coached North Texas for the past 11 seasons, recently agreed to take over the top job at LSU.

Mitchell, a 6-foot-8 forward, has decided to return with the goal of working on his perimeter skills.

Despite being projected as a first round pick Tony Mitchell will return to North Texas next year.

Mitchell, a 6-foot-8 small forward, averaged 14.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this past season.
