Isaiah Briscoe Returning To Kentucky, Marcus Lee Transferring

May 25, 2016 3:03 PM

Isaiah Briscoe announced he will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season, and junior Marcus Lee has decided to transfer after also withdrawing from the NBA draft.

Briscoe was not invited to the combine after making just five of his 37 three-point attempts.

"I really grew from this experience and I appreciate the opportunity to be evaluated by these NBA teams," Briscoe said in a statement released by the university on Wednesday. "I also want to thank the coaching staff and the fans for their support during this time. The NBA is my ultimate goal, so I'm returning to build on last year. There's no better place to grow as a player or to win a championship, and I want to do both."

Briscoe likely would have been a late second rounder or gone undrafted.

Lee, who averaged 6.4 points and 6.0 rebounds along with 59 blocks, told the school that he wants to be closer to his family, John Calipari said. Lee is from Antioch, California outside of San Francisco.

Kennedy Meeks Withdraws From NBA Draft, Staying At North Carolina

May 4, 2016 11:45 AM

Kennedy Meeks has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft and will return to North Carolina for his senior season.

Meeks slimmed down from being close to 300 pounds when he arrived on campus to playing at around 260 pounds last season as a junior.

"I appreciate the support my coaches and teammates gave me during this process as we gathered information about my professional opportunities at this time," Meeks said in a statement. "The feedback on what I have to work on so that I can have a great senior year, help my team have a great season and be ready to take that next step is invaluable."

Justin Jackson is the only player on the Tar Heels still going through the draft process.
