LeBron James On Missing Playoffs: 'It's Not What We Signed Up For'

Mar 23, 2019 11:27 AM

LeBron James will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2005 following the Los Angeles Lakers' 111-106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

"Obviously, it's been a tough season for all of us...It's not what we signed up for. Throughout the year, things happened. Suspensions, injuries, things of that nature. And just not being able to play sustainable basketball for 48 minutes. But you don't even try to wrap your head around it, you just keep pushing. Just try to get better tonight, move on to tomorrow, and go from there. Playoffs are never promised. You've got to come out and work. For me personally, you just continue to put the work in and see what you can do to help," said James following the game.

James added that he was going to talk to the coaching staff about potentially reducing his minutes even more as the season winds down.

"I'm probably going to have a conversation with the coaching staff and my trainer and go from there. But I love to hoop. S---, I'm going to have five months and not play the game."

Lakers Question Lonzo Ball's BBB Shoes Due To Frequent Ankle Injuries

Mar 23, 2019 7:32 PM

The Los Angeles Lakers questioned Lonzo Ball whether his Big Baller Brand shoes were the cause of his ankle injuries.

"Yeah, they talked to me. They asked me about it, and I told 'em, 'I feel comfortable. If I wasn't comfortable, I wouldn't play in 'em. If I didn't play in [his signature BBB shoes], I'd play in Kobe [Bryant's signature Nike shoe]. I work out in [LeBron James' signature Nike shoe], but that's because they're heavier," said Ball.

Ball has suffered 3 separate ankle injuries in 2 seasons.

Ball recently severed ties with the co-founder of Big Baller Brand.

Mike D'Antoni Calls James Harden's 61-Point Game 'One Of The Best Performances'

Mar 23, 2019 11:36 AM

James Harden tied a career-high with 61 points as the Houston Rockets beat the San Antonio Spurs 111-105.

"I don't know how you get any better. Whoever was in the gym tonight probably [saw] something they have never seen before. There's no way. That was one of the best performances -- the magnitude of the game, we needed it -- just everything," said D'Antoni.

Harden, who scored 57 points in his previous game, tied Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant for most points over a two-game stretch.

Gerald Green agreed with D'Antoni's assessment.

"Some of the shots he hit today, it's remarkable. I've seen a lot of basketball in my life, played against a lot of people, and his talent level is just something that I've just never seen before...There's nobody that can stop him. He's just one of those types of players that he's able to get a shot off at any time. He doesn't have any weaknesses."
