The Cleveland Cavaliers signed Daniel Hamilton to an Exhibit 10 contract, league sources told Chris Fedor of cleveland.com.

The 24-year-old Hamilton is the 19th player invited to Cavs training camp. 

Hamilton will compete with Sindarius Thornwell, Jarell Martin, Marques Bolden and J.P. Macura for one of the final roster spots, according to Fedor.

The Cavs plan to carry 14 players on their roster, one short of the league maximum. 

A study on the popularity of the NBA in China found that the Golden State Warriors are the most popular team in the country.

The study, called the "Red Card" report, was put together by the Mailman Group.

The Rockets and Lakers rounded out the top three in popularity.

Jeremy Lin was found to be the most popular in China, followed by Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. 

Hasheem Thabeet will continue to participate in informal 5-on-5 scrimmages with the New York Knicks next week, his agent Jerry Dianis told Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

Thabeet is also scheduled to work out with the Bucks for a second time from 9/8-9/12.

Thabeet last played in the NBA during the 2013-14 season. 

The Los Angeles Clippers will wear throwback jerseys paying tribute to the Buffalo Braves this upcoming season, the team announced on Twitter. 

The Braves were an expansion team that debut in 1970 along with the Blazers and Cavs.

The team moved to San Diego and was renamed the Clippers in 1978 before moving to Los Angeles. 

Eric Gordon and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $75.6 million, league sources told Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

The 30-year-old Gordon, who was heading into the final year of his contract, will make roughly $90 million over the next five years.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the final year of the extension, worth $20.9 million, is not guaranteed unless the Rockets win an NBA title or he makes an All-Star team. 

Eric Moreland has agreed to a camp deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Moreland played for the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors last season.

The 2020 Olympics will feature three-on-three basketball for the first time. There are some who believe five-on-five basketball could be phased out by the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

FIBA has attempted to grow the popularity of the Basketball World Cup, but the Olympics remains the most relevant international competition.

‘There are rumors, from people who hold high positions in European and world basketball, that the 2028 Olympics will not see (five-on-five) basketball anymore, and will be replaced by three-on-three,″ said Rolandas Skaisgirys of the Lithuanian 3×3 Association on the BasketNews.It podcast.

Ben Moore is in advanced contract talks with Galatasaray.

Moore spent last season in the G League. Moore played two games with the Indiana Pacers in 17-18.

Moore recently had a workout with the Phoenix Suns.

RJ Barrett discussed his expectations for the upcoming season, including addressing a recent survey in which he only received two votes each for "Rookie of the Year" and "Best Career" categories from 42 peers in his rookie class.

“When it’s all said and done and you see the actual results, nobody is going to remember the survey,” Barrett told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News at a Puma basketball event.

Barrett stressed that winning the Rookie of the Year award was "definitely important."

Barrett then emphasized his versatility on the court heading into his rookie season. 

“I see myself as a playmaker. That’s something Coach K preached to me a lot. Just be a basketball player. That’s why we had no positions.”

The Dallas Mavericks have claimed Aric Holman off waivers.

The Los Angeles Lakers waived Holman in order to create a roster spot to sign Dwight Howard.

Holman went undrafted out of Mississippi State this offseason and then joined the Lakers for Summer League before signing an Exhibit 10 deal.
