Cavs Could Consider Deron Williams, Baron Davis

The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in Deron Williams, who is in the final season of his deal with the Dallas Mavericks and is making $9 million.

Cleveland has been searching for a backup point guard and will also look at Mario Chalmers and Kirk Hinrich.

Baron Davis also has interest in the job and played six games in the D-League last season. Davis was in Cleveland's locker room and talked to James during their loss in January at the Golden State Warriors.

Larry Sanders Increasing Efforts To Return To NBA

Larry Sanders has increased his efforts to return to the NBA by hiring an agent and beginning to meet with teams.

Sanders has hired agent Joel Bell and has started meeting with NBA teams, including, league sources said, a visit with the Boston Celtics last week.

Sanders has three additional visits scheduled.

Sanders, 28, has been determined the past six months to return to basketball shape and now believes he is ready.

Sanders receives $1.86 million per year until 2022 through his buyout with the Bucks via the stretch provision. Any future contract Sanders signs would be unaffected.

Cavaliers To Work Out Mario Chalmers, Kirk Hinrich, Lance Stephenson

The Cleveland Cavaliers are working out a series of veterans this week.

Mario Chalmers, Kirk Hinrich and Lance Stephenson are all scheduled to work out for the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

There are a few other free agent prospects that are expected to attend the session as well.

Cleveland has one roster spot available, but could open up another slot should the team elect to waive Chris Andersen who is out for the rest of the year with a torn ACL.

Chalmers has been recovering from a torn Achilles.

Stephenson is finally healthy following rehabilitation from a groin injury that required surgery in early November.

Grizzlies Re-Sign Toney Douglas, Waive Troy Williams

The Memphis Grizzlies have re-signed Toney Douglas on a 10-day contract.

Troy Williams has been waived to create a roster spot for Douglas.

Douglas originally signed with Memphis as a free agent on Dec. 5 pursuant to the NBA’s hardship rule. 

Douglas appeared in six games as a reserve and averaged 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.8 minutes before he was waived on Dec. 15.

Williams appeared in 24 games (13 starts) for the Grizzlies during his rookie season and has averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.00 steals in 17.4 minutes.

Randle has appeared in four games for the 76ers on multiple 10-day contracts. Randle will have trigger dates for guarantees next season and in Year 3.

Randle was with the New York Knicks during training camp.

The Atlanta Hawks have signed guard/forward Lamar Patterson to a 10-day contract.

Patterson was with the Sacramento Kings in training camp this season and most recently played in 28 games for the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League, where he averaged 24.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.0 steals in 35.8 minutes.

He ranked fourth in the D-League in scoring, 12th in assists and tied for 12th in steals.

The Dallas Mavericks plan to sign Yogi Ferrell to a 10-day contract.

Ferrell has averaged 18.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 35.7 minutes per game in 18 appearances with the Long Island Nets of the D-League.

Ferrell was waived by the Brooklyn Nets in early December after 10 games.

The Miami Heat have re-signed Okaro White to a second 10-day contract.

White, who was signed to a 10-day contract on January 17, appeared in four games with the Heat and averaged 3.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.00 blocks and 16.4 minutes while shooting 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field, 40 percent (2-of-5) from three-point range and a perfect 3-of-3 from the foul line.

Earlier this season, White appeared in 23 games (all starts) for the HEAT’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and averaged 18.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.09 steals and 33.0 minutes while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 86 percent from the foul line. He helped the Skyforce to a division best 16-5 record while ranking second on the team in points (424), rebounds (201), field goals made (144), three-point field goals made (38) and free throws made (98).

Larry Sanders Announces He's Ready For NBA Return

Larry Sanders announced on Twitter he is ready to attempt a return to the NBA.

Sanders left the NBA with a buyout from the Milwaukee Bucks in February of 2015. Sanders said at the time he was working through "personal issues."

Sanders began considering a return to the NBA last year.

"Officially stepping back into the game,looking for a good fit but it shouldn't be long now,I really missed the game,I think it missed me 2," wrote Sanders on Twitter.
