Tyson Chandler Considered Warriors Before Signing With Lakers

Jan 9, 2019 1:19 AM

Tyson Chandler said he initially considered signing with the Golden State Warriors after getting bought out by the Phoenix Suns.

“The Warriors, honestly, had always been on my mind just because I love the style of basketball that they play...I heavily considered that and I asked them if they would like me there, and they said ‘Yeah,'" said Chandler.

Chandler added that the Warriors "were completely honest, and said (how) DeMarcus is coming off injury and we don’t know what that playing time is going to be like once he gets back. And so for me, it became (a question of), ‘Where would I make the most impact?’"

Chandler added that the idea of playing with LeBron James and Rajon Rondo ultimately swung his decision to sign with the Lakers.
