George Karl would like the Sacramento Kings to try to trade for Ty Lawson.

The Denver Nuggets are rebuilding and could make Lawson available.

Karl previously coached Lawson with the Nuggets.

The Philadelphia 76ers were trying to trade up for a top pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and indicated a willingness to discuss Joel Embiid or any player on their team, an NBA source told Forbes.com's Mark Heisler.

While the souce is unnamed, Heisler has long covered Phil Jackson, and the New York Knicks will have one of the top selections in the draft. Heisler also has close connections to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Embiid was drafted third overall last June and has been out for the entire season following surgery on a broken bone in his right foot.

The Boston Celtics reneged on a promise to agree upon a buyout with Tayshaun Prince, according to a source.

The Celtics instead traded Prince to the Detroit Pistons.

The Los Angeles Clippers were one of the teams interested in signing Prince if he became a free agent.

Erik Spoelstra said the Miami Heat have tried to acquire Goran Dragic in past seasons.

Dragic was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Heat on Thursday.

The final months of Reggie Jackson's tenure with the Oklahoma City Thunder were acrimonious.

Two hours after word of Jackson's trade to the Detroit Pistons broke, Jackson tweeted, "Crying tears of joy #godisgreat." 

"We felt like everybody wanted to be here except for one guy," said Kevin Durant.

Jackson wanted to have a starter's role and make starter's money, which was always going to be difficult if not impossible with Russell Westbrook ahead of him.

Jackson stopped attacking the basket with regularity, attempting 5.1 shots per 48 minutes in the restricted area this season compared to 6.1 last season. 

As Durant said Thursday, "He got what he wanted. You can't really --."

Durant paused for a second to think, but he'd already said how he felt

"He got what he wanted," he repeated.

Before Andrew Wiggins' freshman season at Kansas began, Rich Paul was considered the favorite to become his agent.

Paul also represents Canadians cush as Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph and Myck Kabongo.

Wiggins ultimately chose Bill Duffy with Roc Nation as the runner-up.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports Wiggins wouldn't have been traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers if he had signed with Paul's agency.

When the Cavaliers signed James, they believed they were going to keep Wiggins and trading for Kevin Love wouldn't have had to include the first overall pick of the draft. James left Wiggins out of the his return to Cleveland letter and he was soon included in trade talks.

While Goran Dragic was traded to the Miami Heat at the deadline, a person familiar with his thinking said he “loves the opportunity” to join the Los Angeles Lakers and sees them as a “perfect fit” when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The Heat can offer Dragic a five-year deal, while the Lakers and other teams would only be able to offer him a four-year deal.

The Lakers still have a reasonable chance of keeping their own pick this June and they'll also have the Houston Rockets' selection.

Thomas Robinson and the Denver Nuggets have agreed upon a buyout.

Robinson is in search of an expanded role.

The Nuggets acquired Robinson in their deadline trade of Arron Afflalo.

The New Orleans Pelicans have completed a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, acquiring Ish Smith, the rights to Latavious Williams, cash considerations and draft considerations. In exchange, Oklahoma City has acquired draft considerations from New Orleans. 

Smith, 6-0, 175, appeared in 30 games this season with Oklahoma City, averaging 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists. Undrafted out of Wake Forest in 2010, Smith has appeared in 221 career games, also suiting up for Phoenix, Orlando, Houston, Milwaukee and Memphis, averaging 2.7 points, 1.9 assists and 1.4 rebounds.

The Boston Celtics traded for Isaiah Thomas from the Phoenix Suns for the 2016 first round pick the team had previously acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Thomas is on the first year of a four-year, $27 million deal.

The Celtics also had interest in Thomas last year when exploring a Rajon Rondo trade with the Sacramento Kings.
