The Miami Heat have traded Victor Oladipo and draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Oladipo is on a $9.45 million expiring contract. Oladipo previously played for the Thunder during the 16-17 season before he was traded to the Indiana Pacers for Paul George.

Oladipo suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee during the playoffs. 

The Detroit Pistons have acquired Monte Morris from the Washington Wizards for a second round pick.

The Wizards will create a $9.8 million Traded Player Exception.

The Wizards had a surplus of guards after trading for Jordan Poole and Tyus Jones.

Joel Embiid has been mentioned within league circles as the ideal trade candidate for the New York Knicks should he ever request a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Before Leon Rose was hired by the Knicks, he represented Embiid as his agent.

“Leon is my guy,” Embiid said after Rose was hired. “He’s like family to me. When I heard the news I was happy for him. He’s cool. Being an agent for such a long time and getting a GM or a president job I think is amazing. I’m so happy for him. I’m sure he’ll do a good job over there. I think he’s a great human being. He’s going to do a great job.”

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to trade Joe Harris and two future second round picks to the Detroit Pistons. Harris is on a $19.9 million expiring contract.

The Nets will create a $19.9 million Traded Player Exception with the move.

Detroit will use their cap space to take on Harris.

The Nets are expected to attempt to re-sign Cam Johnson in restricted free agency, who was also going to receive interest from the Pistons.

The Los Angeles Clippers have made Ivica Zubac available in trade talks, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

Zubac signed a three-year, $33 million extension with the Clippers in June 2022.

The Clippers would like to re-sign Mason Plumlee.

The Los Angeles Clippers re-engaged with the Boston Celtics on a potential trade for Malcolm Brogdon this week, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers have been seeking an upgrade at point guard and also had interest in Chris Paul. James Harden is another trade option for the Clippers.

The Clippers previously agreed to a three-team trade with the Celtics for Brogdon, but were unable to get a full medical evaluation on him done in time.

The Indiana Pacers have emerged as a leading trade partner with the New York Knicks for Obi Toppin, sources tell Marc Stein of Substack.

Toppin was the eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft out of Dayton.

In 67 games last season, Toppin averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.7 minutes.

The Sacramento Kings are close to a trade with the Indiana Pacers for Chris Duarte.

The Pacers will receive draft compensation back from the Kings for Duarte, who was a lottery pick in 2021.

James Harden wants to play for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers are in the process of trying to accommodate his preference, sources on both sides tell Sam Amick of The Athletic. 

Harden is "extremely upset at the way in which the Sixers handled his possible free agency and has made his dissatisfaction clear to the organization," sources close to him told Amick.

Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are supportive of the idea of the Clippers trading for Harden.

"There is strong optimism on Harden's side" that he will be dealt to the Clippers.

Harden took a significant pay cut last offseason when he declined his $47.4 million player option with the Sixers to sign a one-plus-one for less money. The widespread expectation was Harden would then reenter free agency this offseason and re-sign for a long-term deal.

The Sixers, however, were prepared to force Harden to test the market before making any offer. The Sixers were preparing a short-term deal.

James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers are working on finding a trade after he opted into his contract for 23-24 at $35.6 million. Given a tepid market for Harden and the way the Sixers have done business on the trade market in the past, a resolution may not be found at the start of free agency.

"He has very likely played his last game in Philadelphia," said Adrian Wojnarowski. Although we saw Daryl Morey go the distance with Ben Simmons, went through the whole next season. I don't think it will go that long. But I'm afraid that this one may go a while before they figure out where that trade destination might be and what's the best package they can get back for him."

Shams Charania of The Athletic has reported that the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat have interest in trading for Harden. The Heat are considered unlikely to make any major transactions while Damian Lillard remains in limbo with the Portland Trail Blazers.
