Pelicans Fire Dell Demps, Will Aggressively Pursue High-Level Basketball Executive As GM

Feb 15, 2019 1:13 PM

The New Orleans Pelicans have fired Dell Demps.

They are looking to fill the interim GM role with internal candidates including Danny Ferry and David Booth.

Ownership plans to be aggressive in hiring a high-level executive as GM, with David Griffin a rumored candidate.

They plan to continue to push back on any Anthony Davis trades. Gayle Benson believes that "outside forces" are trying to pressure the front office into making decisions that don't make sense for the franchise.
