NBA Upholds Dwight Howard's 15th Technical Foul

Feb 28, 2011 8:49 PM

After reviewing the play, the NBA has determined that Dwight Howard's 15th technical foul will stand as called. If Dwight garners a 16th technical during the regular season that is not rescinded, he will be suspended for one game, with further suspensions coming on every second technical thereafter.

The foul in question occurred with 5:01 left in the second quarter of Orlando's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Howard already has received a total of $45,000 in fines for his 15 technicals, and each additional technical would earn him a $5,000 fine.

Kings Hold Cousins Out Of Suns Game

Feb 13, 2011 8:04 PM

The Kings announced on Sunday night that rookie DeMarcus Cousins would not play in the team's game against the Suns.

Cousins didn't travel to Phoenix with the team after executive Geoff Petrie decided not to allow him on the team's flight.

There was reportedly a disagreement between Cousins and Donte Greene following Saturday night's loss to Oklahoma City.

Sam Amick of FanHouse wrote on his Twitter page: "Kings announced Cousins will miss Phx game while they review 'the situation that occurred in the locker room following last night's game...' "

Brooks Suspended After Walking Off Court

Feb 6, 2011 4:43 PM

The Rockets have suspended Aaron Brooks after he walked off the court in the fourth quarter on Saturday night.

Brooks was taken out of Saturday's overtime win against the Grizzlies with 6:45 left in the fourth quarter, but instead of heading to the bench, went to the locker room.

A one-game suspension is customary in such situations.

Houston coach Rick Adelman indicated that Brooks was not injured. Asked where Brooks had gone, Adelman said, “I don’t know. I don’t know. You’d have to ask him.”

Howard's 13th Technical Will Stand

Feb 2, 2011 11:31 AM

Dwight Howard's 13 technical foul will stand as called, a league spokesman told the Orlando Sentinel.

Howard received the technical foul in the final seconds of Monday's loss to Memphis. Howard was speaking with referee Tony Brothers while Mike Conley was waiting to attempt free throws with 5.5 seconds remaining in the game when he was whistled for the technical by Brothers.

Howard didn't think the call should have been made.

"I know he wasn't demonstrative at all," Magic coach Van Gundy said afterward. "I know that there were however many people in the building who had no idea that anything was going on. You know, there's nothing we can do about it. He made the call."
