Oct 30, 2014 6:33 PM

Jeff Taylor has been sentenced to 18 months probation in connection with a domestic violence conviction.

Television news station WILX reported that as a part of the probation Taylor must complete 26 weeks in a batterer’s intervention program. He must also enter an outpatient alcohol treatment program and perform self-tests for alcohol use several times a day.

On Wednesday, Taylor, 25, pleaded guilty in East Lansing, Mich., to the domestic violence charge and to malicious destruction of property, also a misdemeanor.

An NBA spokesman told the Observer on Wednesday that the league’s investigation is continuing.

Court documents indicated Taylor and prosecutors struck a deal Tuesday. A charge of assault and battery against a hotel employee was dropped as part of the plea deal.

Taylor said in court that he pushed his girlfriend into a wall at the Marriott Hotel in East Lansing, and the hotel room wall was damaged, the station reported.

DeJuan Blair, Nene, Daniel Orton and Xavier Silas of the Washington Wizards have each been suspended for one game for leaving their team's bench area in Monday's preseason game against the Chicago Bulls.

The players left the bench during an altercation between Joakim Noah and Paul Pierce.

The NBA said the suspensions will be served by the players during the first regular-season game in which the players are physically able to play.
