Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns were each suspended two games for their role in an altercation during the Philadelphia 76ers' 117-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Towns and Embiid were both ejected from the game.

Ben Simmons was not suspended as he was deemed to be a "peacemaker" who was breaking up the fight. The Wolves have disputed that claim. 

Deandre Ayton has received a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for a diuretic.

Ayton's suspension will begin immediately. 

Ayton was the top overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Arizona.

The Miami Heat suspended Dion Waiters for the season opener due to conduct detrimental to the team.

"There were a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night" said Pat Riley in a statement.
