NBA Launches Investigation Of Sixers' Signings Of James Harden, P.J. Tucker, Danuel House

Jul 29, 2022 8:14 PM

The NBA has opened an investigation into a possible tampering violation committed by the Philadelphia 76ers centered on their signings of James Harden, P.J. Tucker and Danuel House.

Harden declined his $47 million player option to sign a one-plus-one contract with the 76ers at $33 million in Year 1 to give the team flexibility to sign Tucker and House.

Some have wondered if another deal with Harden is in place for the future, which would be a violation of league rules.

Tucker joined the Sixers from the Miami Heat on a three-year, $33.2 million deal.

Jul 20, 2022 1:23 AM

Miles Bridges is facing three felony domestic violence charges, including one count of injuring a child's parent and two counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause bodily injury of death.

The charges were filed by the Los Angeles County district attorney on Tuesday. Bridges is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

"Domestic violence creates physical, mental and emotional trauma that has a lasting impact on survivors," said District Attorney George Gascon. "Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable."

Bridges was arrested on June 29 and released on $130,000 bond.

The NBA and the Hornets both said they were aware of the charges, with the league adding that it is investigating the allegations.
