Justin Hamilton Undergoes Procedure For Atrial Flutter

Justin Hamilton underwent a procedure at South Miami Hospital on Monday to repair an atrial flutter.

After experiencing light-headedness during practice, he was sent to Doctors Hospital where the diagnosis was discovered. He will remain sidelined for a few days and can then begin non-contact exercises for approximately three weeks before being re-evaluated prior to re-joining the Miami Heat for practice.

Hamilton is expected to make a full recovery.

Tyreke Evans To Miss 3-5 Weeks With Strained Hamstring

Tyreke Evans is expected to miss 3-5 weeks with a strained right hamstring, the New Orleans Pelicans announced on Saturday.

"Tyreke injured his hamstring playing pickup basketball out of town last week,” Dell Demps said in a statement. “He is back in New Orleans rehabbing with our medical staff. Hopefully, he will be cleared to play before the season-opener.”

Evans appeared in 72 games for the Pelicans last season and averaged 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 28.2 minutes per game.

David Blatt called Haywood the surprise of the day one of camp.

Haywood missed the entire 2013-14 season due to a foot injury.

Rondo's return timetable is six to eight weeks.

Rondo missed most of last season with a torn ACL.

Gay Upset With Fractured Jaw, Broken Tooth From 'Dirty Play' By Lithuania

Rudy Gay took an elbow to the top of his mouth in the third quarter of Team USA's win over Lithuania on Thursday.

"I've got a fracture in my jaw, a broken tooth and am going to probably need a root canal," Gay said. "The top is where I got hit. It's painful. It's uncomfortable, and it still bleeds, so I've got to continuously gargle. It is what it is, man.

"I think (the elbow) had a little bit to do with (the situation afterward)," Gay said. "It was a dirty play, man. It was a dirty play."

Gay had to receive treatment into the night before traveling to Madrid for the gold medal game.

Noah Vonleh underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a sports hernia suffered in a recent workout.

Vonleh is expected to miss approximately six to eight weeks.

The ninth overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2014 NBA Draft, Vonleh was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Third Team All-Big Ten in 2013-14 at Indiana University after averaging 11.3 points, a Big Ten-high 9.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 26.5 minutes per game.
