Chris Bosh Believes He Should Be Cleared To Play

Jul 25, 2016 11:14 AM

The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh have discussed whether he should come off blood thinners or continue to take them.

If Bosh comes off the medication, there's no reason why he couldn't return to game action.

Bosh has tried to convince the Heat in the past that he can play while on blood thinners as a new medication he's taking would be out of his system in eight to 12 hours by game-time.

The Heat rejected the idea last season which angered Bosh, who has had blood clots in consecutive seasons.

If Miami continues to fight Bosh on playing, he could take up his case with the players union. Bosh wants to play and believes he should be cleared.

If Bosh doesn’t play a single game this upcoming season, his $25.2 million salary for 2017-18 and $26.8 million for 2018-19 would be cleared this summer from Miami’s cap only if “a doctor that is jointly selected by the league and players association agree his condition is career-ending, or severe enough to put him at risk if he continues playing.”

Kevin Durant: I've Got A Short Amount Of Time Left To Play Basketball

Jul 7, 2016 7:01 PM

During the introductory press conference of Kevin Durant with the Golden State Warriors, he was asked about whether he feels guilty about his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“Nah. We live in this super hero, comic book world where either you’re a villain or a superhero if you end up in this position, and I know that," said Durant, who will turn 28 in September.

"But I know I haven’t changed as a person. I don’t treat people any differently because I made a decision to play basketball in another city. I understand the fans in Oklahoma City and basketball fans around the world are I guess upset. But like I said, I made a decision based on what I wanted to do and how I felt, and that’s the best decision for me so I can’t really control how you. I’m sorry you feel that way but I’m gonna continue to live my life. My life goes on, and I’ve got a short amount of time left to play basketball. I just want to enjoy every single day of it.”

Durant underwent three surgeries on his foot during the 14-15 season in which his entire career was in jeopardy.

Durant and the Warriors will enter the 16-17 season as favorites to win the title.
