James Harden Out Sunday Due To Thigh Contusion

James Harden will miss the Brooklyn Nets' Sunday game against the Washington Wizards due to a thigh contusion.

Harden hasn't missed a game since getting traded to the Nets, and is averaging 39.9 minutes per game with his new team.

The Nets are 6-2 since the Harden trade.

Smart suffered the injury during the Celtics' 96-95 loss to the Lakers on Saturday night.

The Celtics start a five-game West Coast trip on Tuesday.

Anthony Davis will miss the Los Angeles Lakers' game on Thursday against the Detroit Pistons with a quad contusion.

Davis had 23 points and eight rebounds in 35 minutes in the Lakers' 107-106 loss on Wednesday at the Philadelphia 76ers.

Davis made a potential game-winning shot with 11.2 seconds left in the game before Tobias Harris made a 15-footer to win it for Philadelphia.

Donovan Mitchell has been placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol and will miss Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Mitchell played 34 minutes in Tuesday night’s win over the New York Knicks. It was not immediately clear when Mitchell sustained the injury.

Team officials said, "His first symptoms linking him to a possible concussion occurred this morning after the game against the New York Knicks last night."

Mitchell shot 3-for-15 from the floor in Tuesday's game.

Leonard and George did not travel with the Clippers to start their six-game road trip due to health and safety protocols.

"Those guys are feeling well and they can get better and hopefully join the team soon," said Lue.

The two players could join the team during this current road trip depending on the extent of the protocols.

Patrick Beverley also did not travel with the team due to right knee soreness.
