Rajon Rondo Remains Doubtful For Game 6

Apr 27, 2017 4:49 PM

Rajon Rondo remains doubtful for Game 6 for the Chicago Bulls when they host the Boston Celtics.

Rondo suffered a broken thumb in Game 2 and has missed Games 3-5.

"Nothing's changed as of now," Fred Hoiberg said during a conference call on Thursday afternoon. "We had a film session in the hotel this morning. Obviously we didn't do anything on the court before we left. Rajon, most likely, will come in and work out tonight, but like we talked about [Wednesday] at the game it's still a long shot that he's back on the court, at least in this series."

Rondo was initially expected to miss "a couple weeks," but speculation surrounding his return heightened after he showed up at Monday's practice without the cast on.

'Nobody Saw The Real John Wall' Due To Left Knee Issues

Apr 26, 2017 1:25 PM

John Wall began suffering pain in his left knee in 2013 with it escalating in 2014 and becoming unbearable in 2015.

“I’ve been in pain for the past three years,” Wall told Scott Brooks when he became head coach of the Washington Wizards.

Wall was quietly going through three hours of treatment for patellar tendinitis in his left knee on a daily basis.

“Three years of misery,” Wall said. “I couldn’t do extra practice, couldn’t take extra shots, couldn’t improve my craft.”

In January 2016, Wall left agent Dan Fegan for Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, who had been following him for years. “I think you have another level,” said Paul, who is based in Cleveland. “I don’t think you’re right.”

Paul took Wall to see Dr. Richard Parker, who removed a five-millimeter bone spur from Wall's left knee. Wall keeps a photo of the prehistoric saber tooth looking spur on his phone.

“Nobody saw the real John Wall,” said Wall.

Wall became the first player ever to average at least 20 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, two steals and .5 blocks.

“Some people get their success early,” Wall said. “Some get theirs late. I feel like my time is just beginning.”

Rajon Rondo Ruled Out For Game 5

Apr 26, 2017 12:03 PM

Rajon Rondo has ruled himself out for Game 5.

Rondo had been ramping up his activity in hopes of returning from his broken thumb early.

"I think I'm Wolverine," Rondo said at a shootaround Wednesday. "But it actually hasn't healed that quickly yet."

Rondo still hopes he could play in Game 6.

"My thumb is still the same," he explained. "Still broke."

Rondo could do further damage to the thumb if he plays.

"If I didn't go out there with anything, the slightest fall on the floor might further damage it," Rondo said. "If I was to go out there in Game 7, 8 or 9, I'd probably have a wrap."

Rajon Rondo Shoots At Practice, Could Return For Boston Series

Apr 25, 2017 5:17 PM

Rajon Rondo took jumpers during Tuesday's practice, signalling he could return for the Chicago Bulls before the end of their series against the Boston Celtics.

Fred Hoiberg has already ruled out Rondo for Game 5.

"This is honestly the first time he's touched a basketball with that right hand," Hoiberg said. "We'll see. We'll see how it goes. He's going to continue to condition and do everything that he can. He was in the weight room yesterday getting a good session in there. It was his first time back in the weight room. He's just getting this whole process started."

The Bulls have lost both games to the Celtics since Rondo exited the lineup.

James Harden Reveals He Injured Ankle In Game 3

Apr 23, 2017 8:38 PM

James Harden said he has been hobbled by an ankle injury that occurred in Game 3.

Harden went 5-for-16 from the field (including 0-for-7 from 3-point range) and scored 16 points in Game 4.

The Houston Rockets were able to win the game behind a great performance from Nene.

"It was pretty tough; we don't make excuses," Harden said in a news conference when asked about his health. "We just try to go out there and get the job done. You build trust, and trust in your teammates all year long. When there's moments like this, guys step up and they did tonight. We have another opportunity in a few days to go out there and win on our home court, and we're going to have to get off to a really good start."

Jusuf Nurkic Ruled Out For Game 4

Apr 23, 2017 7:51 PM

Jusuf Nurkic has been ruled out of Game 4 by the Portland Trail Blazers after returning for Game 3.

"He didn't do any further damage," Terry Stotts said on Sunday. "There was soreness, tenderness and it just wouldn't be wise to have him play through that."

Nurkic was limited to 3-to-5 minute shifts in Game 3.

Nurkic's mobility was limited though he made an impact on the game.

"It was a really good effort I thought," Stotts said. "He's a big part of our team and not only was it a good effort for these playoffs and this team, but I think going forward it spoke a lot to who he is and what kind of teammate he is."
