Warriors, Raptors And Heat Amongst Teams Scouting Jennings

Apr 26, 2009 9:09 PM

Brandon Jennings is a projected top-10 pick and many NBA scouts have flown to Europe in order to scout him in person.

"A lot of NBA teams are here now," said Jennings. "The Warriors were here for a couple of days. The Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors were here. A lot of NBA scouts are starting to come over.

"Now I really have to finish strong and try to give them just a little taste of what I got.

"Of course I think I'm ready. The NBA is an open game. It's more one-on-one. It's more free play. Out here, it's not so much free play. If I can get on a team that goes up and down, the sky is the limit."

Bottom Falling Out On Shoe Endorsement Deals

Apr 24, 2009 11:12 AM

The sports world might be just six years removed from LeBron James signing a deal that averaged $13 million a year, but sources are telling CNBC that it's not likely that any NBA draft pick this year will make more than $1 million a year off a shoe deal.

Dwyane Wade's initial bargain deal with Converse in 2003 ($400,000 a year) is going to seem very lucrative when looking at this year's picks. One agent told CNBC that shoe companies that would have offered kids $250,000 a year two years ago, could now offer $25,000.

Stephen Curry Fits In With Knicks, Potentially LeBron?

Apr 24, 2009 11:02 AM

LeBron James watched Stephen Curry play this season and he believes he can be a very effective NBA player, writes Alan Hahn.  He should be available with the eighth overall pick.

"He's the type of player that's hard to guard no matter how big you are," LeBron said at the time. "Guys in the NBA don't want to continue to chase guys like that."

James also is a big fan of Nate Robinson and it is likely the Knicks wouldn't draft Curry if they intend to keep Robinson, according to Hahn's report.

"Winning a championship definitely had a lot to do with it," Ellington said. "There's no better way to go out. It's something that's very hard to achieve and we worked for it."
