NBA Wants Agents To Share Medicals To All 30 Teams As Part Of One-And-Done Return

Sep 20, 2022 11:00 AM

The NBA and NBPA have long been expected to revert back to its previous rules allowing high school players to enter the draft, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has tried to walk back earlier reports indicating an agreement will be reached.

The NBA is attempting to bargain for player agents to be forced to provide medical information and physicals to all 30 teams as part of the draft process. Currently, agents can exert control over who they share that information with in an attempt to direct their clients away from teams they would prefer to avoid.

Those conversations between the NBA and NBPA have yet to begin and will be part of their larger CBA negations.

Also, if the one-and-done rule is changed, the expected starting date will likely be several years into the future. The first year where high school players are allowed to enter the NBA directly will essentially create a double draft.

The NBA moved its age limit to 19 years old in 2005.

The reduced age limit for high school to NBA jumps would begin as early as the 2024 NBA draft.

Eight Teams Control 85 First Round Picks Over Next Seven Years

Sep 7, 2022 3:43 PM

The NBA has seen a surge of blockbuster trades in recent seasons in which teams have sent out an inordinate amount of future first round picks.

Eight teams control 85 first round picks over the next seven years.

The Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City each have 14 incoming picks, while the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks have 11, the New Orleans Pelicans, Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic have nine, and the Houston Rockets have eight.

The Pelicans and Thunder began this league-wide trend with their trades in 2019 of Anthony Davis and Paul George respectively.

Victor Wembanyama Measures 7-Foot-4

Sep 7, 2022 9:20 AM

Top 2023 NBA Draft prospect Victor Wembanyama recently measured in at 7-foot-4 in his bare feet. That was two inches taller than Wembanyama's current listed height of 7-foot-2.

Experts have long touted that Wembanyama may not be finished growing, given he only turned 18 years old in January. Wembanyama also registered an 8-foot wingspan when he checked in at 7-foot-4.

The teenager and his French club Metropolitans 92 are reportedly set to take on the G League Ignite in a pair of exhibitions games next month. The two teams will reportedly meet in Las Vegas on October 4 and 6. The matchup will see Wembanyama face off against the 2023 NBA Draft's other top prospect Scoot Henderson of the Ignite.
