Seven new markets are included in the roster of 12 teams that will comprise the 2006-07 NBA Development League. Two divisions of six teams will be announced prior to the release of the 2006-07 schedule.
The league will be composed of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles, Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
The Florida Flame has decided not to field a team in 2006-07 due to difficulties in arena scheduling. Members of the Flame ownership group are examining alternate venues with hopes of a return for the 2007-08 season.
