Russia scratched past Greece 68-65 on Sunday.
Greece hadn't lost in the tournament prior to the battle with the 2007 champions.
"I think that we controlled the game and we deserved to win," Russia coach David Blatt told the Associated Press. "There is really nobody younger and more inexperienced than us. And to beat Croatia and Greece in three days and the way we did is admirable."
Sergey Monya hit a three straight 3-pointers to give Russia a nine-point lead early in the fourth quarter.
