Mar 29, 2012 9:15 PM

Anderson Varejao is still sidelined with a broken wrist, but hopes to be fully recovered in time to play for his native Brazil at the London Games.

"If I'm healthy, I will play in London," said Varejao, who has been a member of Brazil's national team since 2001.

Varejao suffered the wrist injury in a February game against Milwaukee and his recovery has taken longer than expected.

Bogut Cautiously Optimistic About Recovery For Olympics

Mar 16, 2012 3:33 PM

Andrew Bogut seemed somewhat optimistic when asked about his chances of playing in the London Olympics this summer.

"It's a tough question to answer right now," said Bogut, who is recovering from a broken left ankle. "To be honest, I haven't given it a whole lot of thought. Without talking myself up, I think I'm as professional as they come.

"I have my own workout and training facility in Melbourne, I'd be rehabbing and training like I would for any other event, and we have enough lead-up games to the Olympics to get ourselves ready."

Krzyzewski Has Not Decided Whether To Coach In 2016 Olympics

Mar 7, 2012 10:39 AM

Kyrie Irving said on Tuesday he received confirmation that his college coach, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, would return to coach Team USA in four more years.

Krzyzewski and USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo were quoted in a joint statement released by USA Basketball.

"While Kyrie and I have discussed his potential role with USA Basketball in the future, my focus right now is on the remainder of our Duke team's season and the 2012 Olympics," Krzyzewski said. "Jerry Colangelo and I have not discussed anything beyond what is ahead of the USA National Team this summer as we pursue a gold medal in London."

Here's Colangelo's quote:

"There's been no discussion about roles beyond this summer, and it would be premature to do so," he said. "Kyrie is an exciting prospect who is on our radar, and while it is impossible to forecast what will happen in the next couple of summers, I'm sure if he continues to play at the level he is playing at now he will be given serious consideration for future USA Basketball teams."

Irving Aims To Play For Team USA

Mar 6, 2012 10:04 AM

Kyrie Irving maintains dual citizenship between the United States and Australia, but he appears destined to join the crowded Team USA field.

Irving will focus on making the 2016 U.S. Olympic team, who he expects to be coached by Mike Krzyzewski.

“It was the right decision,” Irving said. “I found out Coach K would be coaching in 2016. It made my decision so much easier to play for my coach again. That was the deciding factor.”

Jerry Colangelo told ESPN.com on Monday night that the subject of who will coach Team USA in 2016 has not been discussed.
