Zion Williamson Wants To Get Drafted By 'Whoever Wants Me'

Jan 30, 2019 11:21 AM

Aware of the draft hype surrounding him, Zion Williamson said that he has no preference on what team picks him.

“My college classmates let me know a lot. They’re like, ‘Zion, the Bulls want you, man. Like come here.’ And I’m like, ‘Dude, you don’t know that. You’re in college.’ They’re like, ‘Come to Cleveland. Come to LA.’ And I’m like, ‘Whoever wants me, that’s where I want to be at,'” said Williamson.

Williamson added that he doesn't watch a lot of NBA games, but does follow NBA Twitter.

“I do see a lot of people on Twitter saying stuff like that. It just cracks me up.”

Trae Young Says He'll Be Better Than Luka Doncic In 5-10 Years

Jan 29, 2019 12:44 AM

Trae Young stated he was going to be a better player than Luka Doncic in the future.

The two were part of a draft day trade involving the Mavs and Hawks.

"In my eyes, it's not a question -- it's going to be me. But that's just the competitive nature in my blood, and I think that's the no-brainer with me," when asked whether he or Doncic would be better in 5-10 years.

Young added that the trade worked out for both teams.

"Luka's having a really good year so far. And for me, all I do is try to focus on myself and my team. I know it's easy to say, but I'm really dedicated to working extremely hard every day for my teammates and things like that. And I think at the end of the day it worked out for both teams. That's how I look at it. I mean, Luka's doing really well. I feel like I'm doing really well as well," added Young.

Grizzlies Prefer To Close Out First Round Pick Obligation To Celtics This Season

Jan 16, 2019 7:02 PM

The Memphis Grizzlies owe a protected first round pick to the Boston Celtics, which conveys if is outside the top-8 in 2019 and the top-6 in 2020 before becoming unprotected in 2021.

The Grizzlies' future is uncertain as Marc Gasol and Mike Conley Jr. get older.

"I think Memphis would rather get this obligation over with and give the Celtics the 10th pick in this draft then roll it over when the protections get even lighter and maybe Gasol leaves, maybe Conley is a year older," said Zach Lowe on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

"Memphis, according to everyone I've talked to, would rather get it over with now unless they spiral so badly."
