Bucks Use Stretch Provision To Waive Spencer Hawes

The Milwaukee Bucks will waive Spencer Hawes using the stretch provision.

Hawes is owed $6 million for the 17-18 season.

By waiving Hawes and using the stretch provision, the Bucks will get under the salary cap.

The Bucks acquired Hawes during the 16-17 season as part of a salary dump involving Marshall Plumlee.

Blazers Use Stretch Provision To Waive Andrew Nicholson

The Portland Trail Blazers have waived Andrew Nicholson using the stretch provision.

The Blazers will spread Nicholson's remaining salary over the next several seasons.

Nicholson was acquired by the Blazers as part of the Allen Crabbe trade.

Nicholson signed a four-year, $26 million deal with the Washington Wizards in 2016 and he was later included in the Bojan Bogdanovic deal.
