The Portland Trail Blazers have waived Armon Johnson.

Johnson, 23, averaged 2.9 points, 0.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 7.2 minutes in 39 games over two seasons in Portland. He appeared in one game this season. 

The Blazers also reportedly considered waiving Greg Oden to create a roster spot for Joel Przybilla.

Joel Przybilla passed his physical on Sunday and will sign officially with the Blazers on Monday.

But Portland must waive a player to create a roster spot. They will likely decide between Armon Johnson and Greg Oden.

"We aren't going to comment on anything until (Monday)," Chad Buchanan said in a text message. "Our focus today is on LaMarcus (Aldridge) and the All-Star Game.''

The Knicks officially signed J.R. Smith on Friday.

Smith agreed to join the Knicks over the Clippers, who couldn't offer him as much money.

New York waived Renaldo Balkman to create a roster spot for Smith.

The Knicks will cut Renaldo Balkman, a move that will clear a roster spot needed to sign J.R. Smith.

Balkman, who has been out of the rotation since early January, has one remaining year at $1.8 million.

Smith is expected to make his debut Sunday against the Mavericks.

The New Jersey Nets have signed free agent forward Andre Emmett from the NBA D-League’s Reno Bighorns to a 10-day contract.

To make room on the roster, the Nets have requested waivers on guard Keith Bogans.

Emmett is currently ranked 2nd in the D-League in scoring, averaging 23.7 ppg, while appearing in 24 games for Reno.

DaJuan Summers and Squeaky Johnson were waived by the Hornets on Tuesday, according to sources.

Summers and Johnson were on non-guaranteed contracts.

The Rockets have waived Jeff Adrien.

Adrien was on a non-guaranteed contract and had to be moved to make room to sign Greg Smith.

The Washington Wizards have waived center Hamady Ndiaye.

Ndiaye appeared in three games for the Wizards this season and appeared in 10 games for the Iowa Energy (the Wizard’s NBA D-League affiliate).

The Lakers have waived Derrick Caracter.

Caracter was a second round pick in 2010 and injured his left knee in early December.

The Los Angeles Clippers have waived Solomon Jones.

In 10 games played for the Clippers this season, Jones averaged 0.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
