The Washington Wizards have waived Melvin Ely.

Ely was acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans this offseason to help facilitate the Trevor Ariza to the Houston Rockets deal.

Ely spent most of the 13-14 season in the D-League before signing with the Pelicans in April to finish the campaign on a non-guaranteed contract.

The Golden State Warriors have waived Hilton Armstrong.

Armstrong was previously waived by the Warriors in December and later re-signed following a stint in the D-League.

Armstrong signed two 10-day contracts with the Warriors and then was signed for the remainder of the season.

Omri Casspi has cleared waivers after being released by the New Orleans Pelicans.

There had been an expectation that a team would claim Casspi.

Casspi is expected to receive interest from the Sacramento Kings.

The Phoenix Suns released Dionte Christmas on Thursday.

Christmas averaged 2.29 points in 31 appearances for the Suns last season.

Shannon Brown was released by the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

Brown signed with the Knicks late last season and played with the team in Summer League.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been awarded the contract of guard Kendall Marshall on a waiver claim.

Marshall was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers on July 18.

Appearing in 54 games for the Lakers in 2013-14, Marshall, 22, averaged 8.0 points, 8.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds per contest. In his best stretch of the season in January, he tallied at least 10 assists and scored at least 10 points in five consecutive games. He ranked fifth in the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.18) and shot a career-high 39.9 percent from the 3-point arc. Prior to being called up by the Lakers, Marshall appeared in seven games for the Delaware 87ers of the NBA D-League and averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds.

Diante Garrett was released by the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.

Garrett was acquired by the Raptors via trade this offseason.

The Toronto Raptors have decided to release point guard Dwight Buycks within the next two days, before his contract guarantee date on Monday, league sources told RealGM.

Buycks averaged 19.7 points and 4.3 assists in the Las Vegas Summer League, ranking sixth in scoring and seventh in assists. The Raptors grew fond of Buycks’ play a season ago and received trade interest from other NBA teams for the 25-year-old.

Several teams are expected to pursue Buycks in free agency.

Buycks went undrafted out of Marquette University in 2011, and the 6-foot-3 guard played overseas for two seasons before an impressive showing with the Raptors in summer league last year as a tenacious, swift player. In 14 regular season games for Toronto, he averaged 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds.

The Los Angeles Lakers will waive Kendall Marshall.

The Lakers have interest in re-signing Marshall if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Marshall played well in his minutes with the Lakers last season.

The Detroit Pistons will release Peyton Siva before his contract guarantee date, a source tells RealGM.

Siva was the 56th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft out of Louisville.

Siva appeared in 24 games last season with the Pistons, while also playing in another 10 in the D-League.
