The Los Angeles Clippers have claimed Rodney McGruder off waivers.

McGruder was waived by the Miami Heat in a luxury tax avoidance move.

McGruder will not be playoff eligible.

The Los Angeles Clippers waived Luc Mbah A Moute in order to free up a roster spot before the playoffs.

Mbah A Moute appeared in just 4 games this season, averaging 5 points and 1.8 rebounds. He was ruled out for the season after having knee surgery. 

The Clippers now have 13 players on their roster, with 1 open spot. 

The Miami Heat waived Rodney McGruder following their 117-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors.

The Heat would avoid the luxury tax if another team claims McGruder's $1.5 million contract, which they reportedly believe will happen.

McGruder played in 65 games this season, averaging 7.7 points and 3.6 rebounds. 

The Washington Wizards have waived forward Wesley Johnson.

Johnson appeared in 12 games for the Wizards and averaged 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. 

Johnson was originally acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans on February 7 in exchange for Markieff Morris and a 2023 second round pick.

The Philadelphia 76ers have waived Justin Patton.

Patton was acquired on Nov. 12, 2018 in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves and appeared in three NBA games for the 76ers this season. Additionally, Patton spent time with the 76ers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, where he appeared in 11 games (two starts) and posted 8.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 18.6 minutes per game.

Patton has appeared in four NBA games and 49 G League games over two seasons with Minnesota and Philadelphia. Originally selected by Chicago with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Patton played one collegiate season at Creighton before entering the draft.
