Zaccharie Risacher Declares For 2024 NBA Draft

Apr 22, 2024 10:02 AM

Projected first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher has declared as an Early Entry Candidate for the 2024 NBA Draft. Risacher is widely mocked as a top pick, with most having him is the most likely player to be selected first overall.

Risacher is playing for JL Bourg in France, on a loan from fellow French club ASVEL. In 53 total games, the 6-foot-8 inch forward has averaged 10.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Risacher has shot 45.7% overall, including 38.6% on 3.5 three-point attempts per game.

Risacher turned 18 in early April, which made him eligible to enter this year's draft. He was named to the French senior national team for EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers this past February. Risacher saw limited action in France's victory over Croatia and did not play in France's victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Apr 7, 2024 1:56 PM

Tennessee hired Marshall coach Kim Caldwell on Sunday, going outside the Lady Vols family for the first time since the late Pat Summitt stepped down in 2012.

Caldwell replaces Kellie Harper, who was fired last week after five seasons coaching at her alma mater. Caldwell will be introduced at a news conference Tuesday. The move might be considered outside the box to some. Both Harper and her predecessor, Holly Warlick, had deep ties to the program.

Lady Vols Fire Coach Kellie Harper After Five Seasons

Apr 1, 2024 1:34 PM

Tennessee parted ways with coach Kellie Harper on Monday after five seasons, opting to make a change to try and reinvigorate a program that has not played for a national championship since the late Pat Summitt retired.

Harper, who played under Summitt, could never quite get the program back to an elite level. Though she won 20 or more games four times, Tennessee never advanced past the Sweet 16.

"After a thorough review of our women's basketball program, I have informed Kellie we are making a change in leadership," Tennessee athletic director Danny White said in a statement.
