Darren Collison Retires From NBA After 10-Year Career

Darren Collison announced his retirement from the NBA following a 10-year career.

The 31-year-old averaged 12.5 points and 5.0 assists throughout his NBA career.

Collison, who played in 76 games last season for the Pacers, was an unrestricted free agent and expected to receive offers ranging from $10-$12 million per season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

De'Aaron Fox Receives Invite For Team USA's Select Team Training Camp

De’Aaron Fox has been invited to join Team USA's Select Team training camp in August, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Fox joins Kings teammate Marvin Bagley on the Select Team.

Fox finished with 17.3 points and 7.3 assists on the season, while finishing third for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award.

Green was the player development coach for the Warriors.

Jordan Clarkson Signs With Klutch Sports

Jordan Clarkson has switched agents and signed with Rich Paul and Klutch Sports.

Clarkson, who has one year left on his contract, is the fourth Cavs player to be signed to Klutch after Tristan Thompson, JR Smith, and Darius Garland. 

Brian Windhorst recently recounted a story in which people around the league joked that the Lakers could field an entire roster of Klutch clients

Celtics Hire Joe Mazzulla As Assistant Coach

The Boston Celtics will hire Joe Mazzulla from Fairmont State as an assistant coach, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Mazzulla impressed the Celtics as an assistant coach for the side's G League team two years ago.

Mazzulla will replace Micah Shrewsberry on the staff following Shrewsberry's departure to Purdue.

Lakers Receive Permission To Talk To Ron Adams

The Golden State Warriors gave the Los Angeles Lakers permission to talk to Ron Adams about possibly joining Frank Vogel's staff, according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Ohm Youngmisuk on ESPN.

The Lakers want to put together an experienced coaching staff that already includes Jason Kidd and Lionel Hollins. 

It not clear whether Adams is interested in the Lakers' position.

Rui Hachimura To Take Basketball To 'New Level' In Japan

Rui Hachimura ushered in an exciting era for Japanese basketball after becoming the first Japanese player to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.

Hachimura, who played at Gonzaga, was drafted with the 9th pick by the Washington Wizards.

"The fact that Hachimura, a product of the Japanese basketball system, has been selected in the NBA draft makes us very proud," said the Japan Basketball Federation's Yuko Mitsuya.

Hachimura most recently signed a sneaker deal with Jordan Brand. The company cited his branding potential on and off the court. 

Hachimura also lead Japan to quality for this summer's basketball World Cup.

Rick Pitino To Leave Panathinaikos, Focused On Job In NBA

Rick Pitino has turned down an offer to return as president and coach of Panathinaikos in pursuit of a job in the NBA, Pitino told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Panathinaikos won a Greek Cup title under Pitino, going 15-0 in the season. 

Pitino said he wants a coaching, player personnel, or advisory role in the NBA.

"I want to develop teams and develop players and build a winner. I value analytics. I want to fit into an organization. At this stage, that's all I'm interested in," Pitino told ESPN back in December.

Dwane Casey discussed his excitement at seeing his former Toronto Raptors players win an NBA title.

Casey, currently the head coach for the Pistons, coached the Raptors for seven seasons before getting replaced by Nick Nurse last summer.

"It was exciting. It was good to see. To see a guy like Kyle Lowry, kid like Pascal SiakamFred VanVleet and those guys -- Serge Ibaka, guys I coached -- win. It was really thrilling, because I know that was a goal going in with that group, and to see them win it was great," said Casey.
