Dec 13, 2012 11:40 AM

Melo Trimble, a top-60 rated class of 2014 prospect, committed to Maryland on Thursday.

Trimble stars at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Va.

“I’ve been watching Maryland most of my life,” said Trimble. “Of course [I remember] when they won [the national] championship with Juan Dixon and Steve Blake. … I always watched them as a kid. I heard about Len Bias and the other players. … When I went to games [at Comcast Center], it gave me chills and I wasn’t even playing. I could just imagine myself playing in the arena. … [I was just] waiting for that offer.”

The 6-foot-2 Trimble recently shifted to point guard and is averaging 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists this season.

“They told me I’m going to play the 1 and 2,” Trimble said. “One of my good friends, Roddy Peters, is going there. We’re very interchangeable. And so is Seth Allen. They think all three of us can play together.”

Stephen Clark Signs With Oklahoma State

Dec 1, 2012 1:38 PM

Stephen Clark signed a national letter of intent to play college basketball at Oklahoma State.

“I've been waiting on this day for the longest,” Clark said Friday afternoon. “Me and my mom have been stressing through the whole process. We slowed everything down and narrowed it down to figure out where I'm going to school.

“This will make it a lot easier to focus on making myself a better basketball player and buckling down in the classroom to make sure I finish the year with all A's.”

Clark, a 5-foot-11 point guard who is considered a top-70 player in the class of 2013, chose the Cowboys over Baylor and UCLA.
