The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the 2016 Finals, coming back from a 3-1 deficit against the 73-win Golden State Warriors.

The Cavaliers won Game 7 by a final of 93-89 with Kyrie Irving hitting a go-ahead three-pointer against Stephen Curry with 0:53 remaining in the game.

LeBron James had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in Game 7 as he continued a brilliant Finals and was named MVP.

Danny Crawford, Mike Callahan and Monty McCutchen are the three referees assigned to work Game 7 of The Finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers trailed the Golden State Warriors 3-1 after Game 4 but won Games 5 and 6 to force a Game 7.

LeBron James has the highest Player Efficiency Rating of any player in a single Finals since Shaquille O'Neal in 2002.

Through six games, James has a PER of 35.1 while averaging 30.2 points, 11.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 2.7 steals and 2.2 blocks on better than 51 percent shooting.

Steve Kerr was critical of the officiating after the Golden State Warriors' 115-101 Game 6 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kerr was asked about whether his team lost their composure but he immediately shifted the attention to the refereeing. 

"Well, that had nothing to do with the outcome," said Kerr. "The outcome was decided. But he had every right to be upset. He's the MVP of the league. He gets six fouls called on him, three of them were absolutely ridiculous. He steals the ball from Kyrie clean at one point. LeBron flops on the last one. Jason Phillips falls for that, for a flop. As the MVP of the league, we're talking about these touch fouls in the NBA Finals.

"Let me be clear, we did not lose because of the officiating. They totally outplayed us and Cleveland deserved to win. But those three of the six fouls were incredibly inappropriate calls for anybody, much less the MVP of the league."

Kerr was then asked if he was okay with Stephen Curry throwing his mouthpiece.

"Yeah, I'm happy he threw his mouthpiece. He should be upset. Look, it's The Finals and everybody's competing out there. There are fouls on every play. It's a physical game. I just think that Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the way we run our offense, we're running, we're cutting through the lane, we're a rhythm offense. If they're going to let Cleveland grab and hold these guys constantly on their cuts and then you're going to call these ticky-tack fouls on the MVP of the league to foul him out, I don't agree with that."

When Stephen Curry fouled out of Game 6, he protested the call and threw his mouthpiece into the stands in anger.

Curry's mouthpiece hit Andrew Forbes, son of Cleveland Cavaliers' minority owner Nate Forbes, on the shoulder.

Curry almost immediately apologized to Forbes.

Curry is expected to receive a fine for throwing the mouthpiece into the stands.

"Definitely didn't mean to throw it at a fan," said Curry after the game. "But it happened and I went over and apologized to him."

Scott Foster, Ken Mauer and Jason Phillips are the three referees for Game 6 of The Finals.

Mauer is the veteran of the crew with 30 years of experience, while Foster is a 22-year veteran and Phillips is in his 16th season.

Craig Sager of TNT will join ESPN's NBA Finals broadcast team for Game 6.

Sager will share sideline reporting duties with Doris Burke.

Sager has never worked an NBA Finals broadcast in his career.

“I’d like to thank Turner and ESPN for approaching me with this tremendous opportunity to be part of The Finals broadcast team,” said Sager. “I’ve been watching the series very closely and, while I do not want to distract in any way from the event itself, I look forward to being in the building for what will be an incredibly exciting Game 6. The NBA community is a very special one and this is a great honor.”

On July 13, ESPN will present Sager with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at The 2016 ESPYS presented by Capital One on ABC. Sager was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014.

The Golden State Warriors are being given an 86 percent chance of winning The Finals despite losing in Game 5.

The Warriors entered Game 5 with a 3-1 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Golden State has a 46 percent chance of winning in Game 6 and a 40 percent chance that the series will end with them winning a Game 7.

The Cavaliers are being given a 14 percent chance of winning both Games 6 and 7.

The Golden State Warriors have a +54 with Draymond Green at center over 81 minutes in Games 1-4 of the NBA Finals.

With Green not at center over 111 minutes, the Warriors are -24.

The Warriors have been at their best since last year's playoffs with various iterations of a lineup with Green at center.

The NBA is still reviewing an incident involving Draymond Green and LeBron James.

There is no timetable for a ruling ahead of Game 5 on Monday.

If Green were to be assessed a flagrant foul 1 after league review, he would receive an automatic suspension for Monday's Game 5. A flagrant foul 2 would keep Green out of Games 5 and 6.
