Mark Kreidler of the Sacramento Bee has an excellent analysis of Rick Adelman's career as only the 22nd coach in NBA history to achieve 500 wins.  Kreidler maintains that Adelman's laidback style prevents him from getting the recognition he deserves.  With the Kings surprising good start without Chris Webber, perhaps some of Adelman's critics should take a second look at his record and his style.  Kreidler also has an deft sarcastic touch, such as this:

"Pat Riley has been underachieving for years in Miami, but Riles has the hardware from his Lakers days; and every fifth day or so around Kingville, sure as tule fog, you'll hear someone chirp, 'Boy, a coach like Riley would have these guys ready for L.A. in the playoffs!' as though Riley himself would be posting up Shaquille O'Neal for five or seven games."
