Sekou Smith of the Indianapolis Star reports that stories about Ron Artest being involved in a fight in Atlanta this past weekend were wrong.

Reports said Artest was involved in an altercation with Houston?s James Posey.  However, Artest was in Disney World at the time.  Subsequent reports say that Posey and Dallas' Nick Van Exel were seen in handcuffs after an incident at a party put on by the NBA Players Association.

Reports of that situation are still sketchy.

The Pacers have reacted strongly.

Pacers President Donnie Walsh said, ?Ron Artest was reported to have been involved in an altercation at a party in Atlanta during All-Star weekend. Ron spent the weekend at Disney World with his family enjoying the break. He was not in Atlanta during the time of the incident. These reports are completely false.

?We, as an organization, are looking into how Ron?s name became affiliated with this story and the media?s representation of the events that transpired.?

Smith reports that Indiana coach Isiah Thomas appeared shocked that a story about Artest's involvement in an Atlanta incident was being circulated.
