According to the Chicago Sun-Times, long time assistant Johnny Bach is expected to retire after the season.

''It appears that way,'' Bulls operations chief John Paxson said Tuesday. ''Before this year, Johnny said this would be his last year.

''I have some personal feeling for Johnny. He's a person that has some depth to him. You can sit around and listen to him tell basketball stories all night, but you can also sit around and listen to him tell stories about life. Ever since I've known Johnny, he's had a lot of passion for life.''

Bach, 81, has been in the coaching profession for 53 years, and this is his 26th season in the NBA.
