Hornets Hope To Play Season Opener In New Orleans

Hornets owner George Shinn said he has been working with the NBA for several weeks to see if the team will be able to play its home opener at New Orleans Arena.

"We're trying to get it accomplished, and it's something I want to do for the city," Shinn said. "I think it would be great, and I'm definitely working with the league to have our opening night in New Orleans."

The NBA is expected to release its schedule for the 2006-07 season next month.
