General manager John Paxson will consider sending JamesOn Curry to the Bulls' D-League affiliate occasionally during the season to make sure the second-round pick gets playing experience.

Until then, Curry is trying to shake off a torn ligament in his left thumb and soak up all that is being thrown at him.

Curry said he suffered the injury during a pickup game at the Berto Center five days before training camp. He said a team doctor told him the ligament was torn but that a wrap on his non-shooting hand would allow him to keep playing.

"It can heal on its own unless I keep reinjuring it," Curry said. "I'll just play through it."
