Sessions, in the month of April, was the only rookie to average a double-double. On April 16, in a match up against Minnesota, Sessions scored a career-high 25 points while playing all 53 minutes. He also set a career high and franchise record of 24 assists vs. Chicago on April 4, which was previously held by Guy Rodgers (21). In addition, Sessions was the only player to have a 20-point and 20-assist game in club history. This season, Sessions played in 24 games on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks for the NBA D-League Tulsa 66ers and was twice named D-League.com Performer of the Week. Sessions is the first player with D-League experience to win an NBA monthly award.
Among rookie qualifiers in April, Durant ranked first in scoring with 24.3 points per game and assists with 4.1 assists per game. He also ranked first in the league in free throw percentage with .844 and third in field goal percentage with .461. In addition, Durant had career-highs in points with 43 and rebounds with 13 in a 126-121 victory in the season finale against the Golden State Warriors on April 16.
