Heat center Jermaine O'Neal had 5 points in 22 minutes of action in Game 1 against the Hawks on Sunday night, and wants to see his contributions increase.

"Obviously," O'Neal said after the loss, "I'd like to be more involved."

He attempted just five shots on Sunday, while few plays were runs for the former All-Star.

"Every team has a different philosophy and this team is a huge pick-and-roll team and that's what this team does best," O'Neal said on Monday. "Pick and rolls are a high-percentage offense for those guys and that's what we run a lot. We're not really a post-up team."

O'Neal was acquired from Toronto on Feb. 13 for Shawn Marion.

"The fact of the matter is we only have two plays basically for me, two plays strictly for me," O'Neal admitted. "The rest is just pick and rolls. So right now, the positioning for me, and the best thing for me and this team, is for me to just do the things that Coach Spoelstra wants me to do."
