A pair of referees who were previously fired by the NBA have been asked to officiate games during the league's labor standoff.

The former referees, Michael Henderson and Robbie Robinson, are among 44 replacements that will attend training camp this week. Both men were fired by the NBA earlier this decade.

It was reported on Sunday that Henderson was on the list of replacements, and the New York Times is reporting that Robinson's name is on the list as well.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank declined to confirm any of the names on the list.

The replacements became necessary when the NBA and the referees union reached an impasse in contract negotiations last week.

There are no further meetings scheduled between the league and its referees.
