The Pistons have gotten more out of Ben Wallace than they expected.

The veteran is averaging a team-high 9.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

"I knew Ben would be an asset talking to our bigs," coach John Kuester said. "I never imagined that he would have the impact playing that he is having right now. He looks like the old Ben."

Wallace posted just 2.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 56 games for the Cavaliers last season.

"You can tell Big Ben is definitely at home here," Pistons guard Ben Gordon said. "He's playing with energy, and it just seems like he's rejuvenated."
