The agent for Carmelo Anthony, Leon Rose, has pushed New Jersey to bring Detroit into trade talks with Denver, according to league sources.

Rose also represents Pistons guard Richard Hamilton.

Anthony wants the Nets to upgrade their roster if he's going to sign a contract extension following a trade.

"Leon is driving this one," one front-office executive told Yahoo! Sports.

With Anthony's agent so heavily involved in brokering particular players in the deal, the Nets believe that adding Hamilton and perhaps Chauncey Billups will be enough to sign Carmelo to an extension.

The Pistons are determined to trade Hamilton and the $25 million left on his contract, but they refuse to part with the draft pick.
