Newark Memorial's steak of 101 consecutive wins in Mission Valley Athletic League play came to an end at the hands of Kennedy High (Fremont). The Cougars lost by a final score of 66-59.
D'vaughn Mann had a game high 20 points, while Casey Norris of Newark Memorial also scored 20.
Coached by Craig Ashmore, Newark Memorial has sent several players to Division 1 schools over the past decade, including DeVon Hardin. Hardin was a second round pick out of California for Oklahoma City in the 2009 NBA Draft.
